Most programs these days have a new "tip" that pops up each time you start it.

Ideally you start with tips for "newbies", then later mention more complicated stuff. If you just pick tips randomly, you risk getting the same tip several times in a row -- or getting one of the "advanced" tips that don't make any sense, like this:
